This weekend me and my squad went to a tiny town in the amazon rainforest called Mindo to enjoy a (much needed) couple days of rest from ministry.

On our last day, me and miss Katherine Chandler we’re getting coffee together and saw that the place we were at provided $20 massages. Kath talked me into my first ever massage with the sweetest woman named Mar.

Back up to two days before this, I was holding Katherines hand as she got her first tattoo on her ankle of the words “But God”.

As Katherine finishes up her massage, Mar asks us if we are Christians. With an immediate “yes” from us, she breaks down sobbing with tears streaming down her cheeks.

As she collected herself she took a deep breath and proceeded to tell us that she had had a really hard week. She said that she prayed to the Lord last night for provision financially and just confirmation that He even still loved her. She was on her way to Quito which was two hours away to look for a new job and search for answers when she received a call that two girls were asking for a massage. As she gave Katherine her message, she saw the “But God” on her ankle and it allowed her to be reminded of how much the Lord sees her and loves her and hears her prayers.

We then were able to pray over her and her life and give her a million hugs, affirming her of how loved she was.

Ministry truly never does stop. Who knew an activity that is usually so self indulgent could turn into an open door for the Lord to remind His daughter of how loved she is.

As I prepare to come home so soon, I pray that ministry is the forever anthem of my life. It doesn’t stop when I’m off the mission field, on vacation, or home at the end of a long day. My life is for Him and to make His name known and glorified.

So say a prayer for miss Mar today, and remember your mundane trip to the grocery store, long day at a school desk, and hours at work are not any more or less than what we would usually define as ministry.

Everyone is going through something. Our world is aching, so never underestimate the power of the love of Jesus.

Bye for now,
