what an honor

what an honor to suffer for the name of Jesus

what an honor to have everything you own always smell like mildew

what an honor to have your patience tested

what an honor to be constantly uncomfortable

what an honor to get a head of lice

what an honor to eat the same exact meal over and over

what an honor to lay at night sore and tired

what an honor to give up a year at college in a cozy dorm

what an honor to live in a tiny tent

what an honor to feel dirty all the time

what an honor to have the yuckiest bugs crawling on your bed and leaving bites all over you

what an honor to leave the comfort of consistent showers

what an honor to trade your bed for the ground

what an honor to push through spiritual warfare

what an honor to miss home

what an honor to leave all forms of comfortability (emotional, physical, spiritual)

what an honor to drink lukewarm coffee every morning

what an honor to constantly feel dirty

what an honor to be broken apart from the old you

what an honor to miss your dog

what an honor to battle lies of not feeling accepted

what an honor to battle lies of feeling that what your doing is pointless

what an honor to go through doubt

what an honor to grow through hard things

what an honor to be scared of messing up

what an honor to go to bed dirty

what an honor to go through sicknesses

what an honor to be stripped of yourself

what an honor to fly across the ocean thousands of miles from home

what an honor to do manual labor

what an honor to go through culture shock

what an honor to have a broken heart for a hurting world

what an honor to be humbled

what an honor

“And they left the presence of the temple rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name. And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they never ceased teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.” Acts 5:41-42

I asked my squadmates what their most uncomfortable form of suffering in these next 9 months would be.

It is an absolute honor to suffer for the name of Jesus. When I have the heart posture of the apostles, joy comes naturally.

Thank you for reading! Lots of love from my new Georgia home

  2. MG, what an honor it is to know you and to pray for you on this journey! You’re a beautifully hearted warrior for Christ’s Kingdom !!

  3. What an honor it is to be your momma. These are hard to read as a mom knowing your daughter will be enduring these challenges, but I know Jesus will give you exactly what you need in each of these moments to give Him glory in all of it. What an honor it is to go deeper as a Jesus follower right along with you as I’m challenged by looking at all things that are uncomfortable as “an honor.” I love you angel girl. –Momma

  4. You are such an amazing light in this world precious MG! Holding you close and praying you through it all! ??????

  5. What an honor to know you and witness your unbecoming. Unbecoming everything Jesus doesn’t want for you and BECOMING everything he does.

  6. Mary Grace, Tears. Your heart is in a beautiful place with an attitude that is like that of Christ. (Philippians 2) You are spot on! As I care for an elderly aunt who can no longer care for herself, I agree: It is my great honor to get to love her well, care for her daily needs, handle her with the gentleness and compassion not of myself, but Christ in me. Press in, sweet girl. God has blessings abundant in store for you as you walk in that posture.
